Visitors from most countries can enter Hong Kong without a visa for short stays ranging from 7 to 180 days, while others may require a visa to enter Hong Kong. Please note that it can take several weeks to process a visa application so early application is recommended.

 
Timeframes and the Need of Visa for a visitor?�s stay in Hong Kong:

The duration of stay and the need of a visa depends on visitor?�s nationality or type of travel document one hold. Visitors should check and learn whether a visa or entry permit is required to enter Hong Kong when planning their travel. Visa Application Process:

If visa or entry permit is required, visitors should obtain the appropriate visa or entry permit before travelling to Hong Kong. Visitors are able to submit their applications directly to the Hong Kong Immigration Department or through a Chinese diplomatic or consular mission in your area of residence. Extension of stay beyond the visa-free period:

Visitors who want to extend your stay in Hong Kong beyond the visa-free period initially granted are advised to visit https://www.immd.gov.hk/eng/online-services/applyextensionstay/visitor.html for information and online application process.  

Assess China via Hong Kong:

Foreign nationals from 54 countries are currently eligible for the 72/144-hour transit visa-free policies which are effective at 31 ports in 23 cities of 18 provinces in China. Details could be found on https://en.nia.gov.cn/. If visitors are planning to stay longer than the visa-free period initially granted are advised to visit https://www.visaforchina.cn/globle/ for online application.
